들었을 때 어, 이거! 하고 모두 알지만 제목은 모르는 노래 시리즈. 

 

우리나라에서는 맨해튼 트랜스퍼 버전이 더 인기가 많지만, 원곡은 잉크 스팟이 불렀다.

여기서 Java는 자바 커피로, 인도네시아산 커피의 대표격인 종류이다.

인도네시아의 자바 섬에서 생산되어 이 같은 이름이 붙었다.

Jive는 당시 유행하던 자이브 댄스를 뜻하며, 1930년대 초 미국에서 아프리카계 미국인에 의해 시작된 춤이다.

거칠게 해석하면 Java Jive란 커피의 춤 이라고 할 수 있겠다. 커피를 즐긴다는 것의 낭만적 표현일 것이다.

커피 광고에도 사용되어 누구나 익숙하게 커피 하면 생각나는 음악이지만, 이렇게 알고 들으니 더 커피가 생각날 것도 같다.
